Special industrial package to adjoining states with an eye on Lok Sabha Election- Sukhbir

SAS Nagar, The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the congress led UPA Government has extended the special industrial package to adjoining states with an eye on the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

 

He was interacting with media persons after installation of Mr. Barjinder Singh Brar as Chairman, Punjab Health Systems Corporation here today. Taking congress to the task, The Deputy chief Minister pointed out that the Punjab Congress has never dared to take up the issues of the interest of the state with their Party High command and the recent extension of Industrial Package to congress ruled hilly states, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand was a violation of federal structure of the country. He said that Punjab congress leaders have limited themselves to beg before high command only for party posts and never bothered to raise any genuine demand right of the state.

Brar assumes office as Chairman, Punjab Health Systems Corporation.

He said that the anti people policies of congress led UPA Government has taken the country to the brink of economic disaster resulting in ever increasing unemployment and roof piercing inflation. He said that the people of country has already made up their mind to bring back Mr. Narinder Modi led NDA Government.

 

Replying a query regarding impact of Apex Court judgment regarding commutation of death sentence of Rajiv Gandhi assassins on the case of Prof. Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar, Mr. Badal said that he was hopeful of positive outcome as SGPC had already taken up this issue with the President of India.

 

Rubbishing the demand of Congress demand for CBI inquiry into drug seigeures, Mr. Badal said that PPCC's President was making this demand to derail the ongoing campaign of Punjab Police against drug mafia and we would not let their nefarious designs to succeed.

 

Later on addressing the function, Mr. Badal described Mr. Barjinder Singh Brar as a hard working young leader of Shiromani Akali Dal and wished him all success. Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue & Public Relations Minister, Mr. Surjit Kumar Jyani, Health Minister, Jathedar Tota Singh, MLA, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, MLA and Mr. Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, Advisor to Chief Minister.
