Chandigarh: A Make up Workshop was conducted by Make up Studio, Delhi’s Artist Hema at Indola Tressed up Academy & Saloon in Manimajra, Chandigarh. Tips were given by Hema on various forms of makeup and a live demonstration of the Air Brush makeup technique was also organised. This method was first used in 1959 on actors in the movie Ben Hur and has since grown in popularity in the entertainment, beauty & glamour business. It wasn’t long for it to find its way into salons worldwide and it has since made its way into Indian beauty outlets as well.

Says Hema, “Airbrush make-up is a technique where makeup is sprayed onto the skin using an airbrush instead of being applied with sponges, brushes, fingers, or other methods.” Adds Hema, “The popularity of this technology stems from the fact that traditional make up reveals itself if a lady wearing the same comes on HD television, whereas a lady who uses Airbrush technique to wear make-up is able to conceal the same on even HD TV.”

The workshop was organized to equip small salon owners and budding make up artists with expertise in latest trends being introduced in makeup techniques. As many as 30 such self employed people and would be make up artists  took advantage of the workshop. The participants learnt the advantages of airbrushing technique in which the makeup is sprayed on and it connects with the skin as millions of droplets of the makeup formula, creates an even sheen, giving a natural appearance to the skin. It was revealed that Airbrush makeup also wears longer than traditional powder or liquid foundation and can stay put for as much as 12–24 hours.

The one day workshop exposed the trainees to Basic and advanced makeup procedures and was organized by Tressed Up salon located in Manimajra,Chandigarh. This workshop will provide know-how to participating professionals from tri-city and give them an edge in running their ventures.
