CHANDIGARH--- Workshop on Leadership Skills and Traffic Awareness Programme kept the NSS Volunteers riveted to the seats at the ongoing NSS Special Camp being conducted under the headship of Principal Mrs. Madhu Bahl and Programme Officer Mr. Mantoshpal Singh at KB DAV -7 Chandigarh. The resource persons for the day were Mr. Gurnam Singh, Chief Coordinator Traffic Marshal, Sh. Deshraj Head Constable UT Chandigarh Traffic Police and Ms. Pooja Prakash, Faculty, KB DAV-7.
The presentation by the Traffic police personnel reflected the callous attitude of the civilians while driving. It stressed upon the need of following the Traffic rules and the guidelines laid down by the Traffic police to maintain law and order and create safer roads for our children. The NSS Volunteers were encouraged to act as Road Monitors and spread this message among their family and friends. The programme ended with full fervor and pledge taken by the Volunteers along with traffic officials.
The workshop on Leadership Skills saw an enthusiastic response from the volunteers who worked on segments like Reality Check, Follow The Leader, It’s How You Say Things to understand the qualities of a Leader and the urgency to imbibe qualities like honesty, confidence, hard work, generosity. They enacted real classroom situations to understand the importance of focus, initiative, communication, competence and courage in real life situations.
Principal Madhu Bahl said, “I am confident that my School Children shall strictly follow the Traffic Norms when they grow up and drive on the roads independently and safely by being the disciplined citizens of India.”
