CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has decided to observe National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) from 24thto 30th December, 2013. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state government said that the consumer protection week is observed on December 24 every year. He said that this year the motto of NCPW has been fixed as ‘empowering consumers’ universality of consumer right’.
He said that the motive behind the observance this week is to generate awareness among the consumers about their legal rights. He said that the literature, focusing on the legal rights of the consumers, would be distributed in the state. He further said that the quiz contest, seminars, poster making and essay writing competition would be conducted in the school and colleges of the state marking this day.
