Beijing, Dec 21
As many as 19 primary school pupils in China had to be hospitalised after they consumed yoghurt, allegedly poisoned and delivered to them by a woman two days ago, authorities said Friday.
The incident occurred in Hunan province's Loudi city. Police later detained the woman, 34, and suspect that she suffers from mental disorder, Xinhua reported.
The woman confessed to have injected rat poison and herbicide into the yoghurt and then delivered the drinks outside a local primary school to students on their way home, police said.
Among the 19 stricken students, three were in a serious condition but doctors said they lives were not in danger.
