Chandigarh: Striving for the Muslims rights, All Muslim Welfare Society (Regd.) today urged from the Punjab Govt. to release their encroachments from Wakf Board’s land.

Mr. Manik Ali, Chairman, All Muslims Welfare Society while addressing a press conference inChandigarhhas urged the numerous governmental departments which are operational from Punjab Wakf Board’s land should be shifted and handover the same land to Board.

In this direction, Govt. should instruct respective Deputy Commissioners in respective districts to issue instructions to remove these encroachments. Though, Chief Minister Sh. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Sukhbir Badal has already given the assurance to remove such encroachments earlier this year but all in vain.

Manik Ali rued that the Govt.’s neglected attitude towards minorities is very unjustified which need to be changed. If Govt. release their encroachment from Wakf Board lands, Muslims community can generate good amount of revenues for their own developments. It has been also observed that apart from Govt. encroachers, a few miners and individuals for their selfish interests are benefiting themselves.

Society demands from the Govt. to empower them with the rights of Public Premises Act which enables to uproot such elements from Wakf land. Ali disappointed on that point if Govt. fails to remove their own encroachers, it would definitely empowers individuals to encroach on same lands.

Society is engaging since 2008 to convince their demands. Society members in recent past keep submitting their memorandum to respective Deputy Commissioners in their respective districts. Society demands from Chief Minister Sh. Parkash Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Sukhbir Singh Badal to intervene in the matter and take necessary actions.
