Grewal assumes charge of chairman Punjab Khadi Board

CHANDIGARH: Mr. Harjit Singh Grewal today formally assumed the charge of Chairman, Punjab Khadi and village industries Board here at the head office of Punjab Khadi Board in the presence of Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Industry and Commerce Minister,Punjab.

 

While speaking on the occasion Mr. Mittal said that the board has been constituted to organize, develop and propagate village industries in the state and Mr. Grewal has been appointed the chairman of such a prestigious board which provides employment opportunities to the rural unemployed youth of the state thereby strengthening the rural economy of the state.

 

After assuming charge Mr. Grewal thanked Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal for appointing him as chairman of such prestigious board and assured to make all efforts to help the poor and downtrodden unemployed persons of the state by providing them employment in their areas thus curtailing them to shift to urban areas in search of employment.

 

Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Mr. chunni lal bhagat, Forest and Labour Minister, Punjab, BJP state President Mr. Kamal Sharma, Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna, MP, Mr. Ajai Jamwal, Mr. Rajinder Bhandari, MLA, Mr. Ashwani Sharma, MLA and Mr. Vaneet Joshi, Assistant Media Advisor Punjab Government.
