Punjab and Haryana Governors pays obeisance at the lotus feet of Sri Sathya Sai Baba

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT,Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil and Haryana Governor, Mr. Jagannath Pahadia today paid obeisance at the lotus feet of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, a Prayer and Bhajans programme organized at Punjab Raj Bhavan Chandigarh.

 

Thousands of devotees thronged Punjab Raj Bhavan to participate in Prayers and recited Bhajans of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Sri Shridi Sai Baba, Sri Ram and Sri Krishan ji. Banquet Hall ofPunjabRaj Bhavan has been tastefully decorated with fresh flowers where pictures of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, Bhagwan Ram and Krishan Ji was placed and garlanded with flowers.

 

Mr. Patil said, Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught us that God is One, Shirdi Sai Baba taught us that God is love and love is God, Sri Sathya Sai Baba taught us to love all and serve all. He said that need of the hour was to follow the teachings and path shown by our great gurus and saints which would lead us from darkness to light and ignorance to knowledge.

 

BothPunjaband Haryana Governors paid floral tributes and remembered the global anti-apartheid icon Mr. Nelson Mandela. Describing Mr. Nelson Mandela, a freedom fighter, a politician, a statesman, and a very powerful symbol of the struggle against apartheid, Mr. Patil said he was also known as Gandhi of South Africa.

 

Mr. Shailesh Patil son of Punjab Governor who organized this Sarav Dharam Sammelan performed Aarti on the occasion. Langar (Community kitchen) and sweets were also served to the devotees. Prominent amongst others who participated in prayers included Mr. K.K. Sharma, Adviser to Administrator, Mr. Subash Chawla, Mayor, Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. Anil Kumar, Home Secretary, Mr. V.K. Singh, Finance Secretary, Mr. R.S. Ghuman, SSP, Mr. M.M. Sabbarwal, Director Public Relations and other senior officers and staff of Punjab Raj Bhavan.
