38 Students on educational tour calls onPunjab Governor

CHANDIGARH:  A team of 38 students of Kathua of Jammu District led by Major Sahil Thakur called on Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Mr. Shivraj V. Patil under Gurj Division Shiksha Abhiyan.

 
While interacting with youth, Mr. Patil said that this educational tour will not only provide you opportunity to visit the various places of our country but will also inculcate a sense of national pride by witnessing vast cultural and religious diversity of India. Mr. Patil said that we all are equal even if we belong to different religions. He said real education is broadmindedness which will reward you in life if adopted.


Earlier giving brief description regarding the visit, Major Sahil Thakur said that The Shiksha Abhiyan aims to expose the young students to the rich, vivid and vibrant heritage of the northern states of the country. The tour provides an excellent opportunity to the young students to broaden their horizons, most of who have ventured out of their villages for the first time and have even had their maiden such journey on the tour. In the city they visited places of historical and cultural importance such as Rock Garden, Lake, Pinjore Garden and Terraced Garden. Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor and Major Vivek Anand, ADC to Governor.
