Chandigarh: Taking a significant decision, the Punjab government has renamed the existing historic town Baba Bakala of district Amritsar as Baba Bakala Sahib with immediate effect. A notification in this regard has been issued.
It may be mentioned here that Baba Bakala Sahib was closely associated with the 9th Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. The Guru meditated here for twenty years.
