Chandigarh: The Secretary and spokesman of SAD, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema MLA today said it was amazing that Pradesh Congress President Partap Singh Bajwa was still trying to mislead the people even after being caught usurping common village land belonging to the village poor.

Taking note of Bajwa’s statements in media criticizing the Punjabgovernment on one pretext or the other, Dr. Cheema said the latest disclosures about Bajwa had been preceded by the Gujrat episode, arms smuggling and bitumen scam. He said even more such scams were likely to unfold in the coming days.

Dr Cheema said the PCC chief seemed to be baffled by the rising popularity and unprecedented development done by the SAD-BJP government in Punjab. He said it was because of this that Mr Bajwa's recent rankings were not making any sense. The SAD leader has asked Mr. Bajwa to explain as to why as a Punjabi he never asked for any special economic package or any other support from Congress led UPA government for the state of Punjab and in particular for the constituency of Majha belt he representing in Parliament.

Fearing the wrath of his own people in his own constituency, Bajwa was deliberately avoiding facing the public in border area, said Dr. Cheema. He said Mr Bajwa was moving around in the state begging for inhalation for the crumbling Congress. Asking Bajwa to shun his arrogance, Dr. Cheema said that it was the time for the congress to lie low as they were on the verge of being thrown out of the country. "People have understood the modus-operandi of the most corrupt Congress led UPA government in destroying the country from both inside and outside", he said.

He said that bewildered Bajwa was facing hostility from within his own party in Punjab. Citing example, Dr. Cheema said that the leader of the opposition, Sunil Jakhar along with his legislators echoed in Punjab Vidhan Sabha to hold an enquiry into the shamlat land grab cases of the Bajwa family in Punjab. Dr. Cheema reiterated the resolve of the Punjab Government to protect the village common lands of the state from the illegal occupants.
