Maluka to inaugurate Punjabi week from Mohali

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Government has decided to organize 'Punjabi Saptah' from November 22, with an aim to promote the Punjabi language. According to the spokesman of Punjab Government, Punjab Education Minister Mr Sikandhar Singh Maluka would be the Chief Guest on the inaugural function. Function would take place at Mohali. He further mentioned that Language Department organizes Punjabi Saptah annually.


He further said that Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala would preside over the function and Dr. Gurbachan Singh Rahi would deliver the key note address highlighting the importance of Punjabi Language. He said that the Punjab Government was fully committed to promote Punjabi Language and has issued guidelines to use Punjabi Language in all its offices, Schools as per the Law passed in state earlier.
