CHANDIGARH: The Government agencies and private millers procured more than 7733664 tonnes of Paddy till last evening. Out of total procurement of 7733664 tonnes of paddy in all the procurement centers ofPunjab, the Government agencies procured 7209249 tonnes of paddy (93.2%) till date whereas private traders procured 524415 tonnes (6.8%) of paddy. Till October 27, PUNGRAIN had procured 2135370 tonnes (29.6%) whereas MARKFED procured 1697363 tonnes (23.5%). PUNSUP procured 1623486 tonnes (22.5%), PSWC procured 694282 tonnes (9.6%) whereas PAFC was able to procure 739739 tonnes (10.3%) of paddy. The Central Government agency FCI had been able to procure 318709 tonnes (4.4%). 

The spokesperson added that District Patiala with 824156 tonnes of procurement was leading in procurement operations whereas District Ferozepur with 745592 tonnes of procurement was at second slot and district Moga 712007 tonnes of procurement ranked at third position.
