Hyderabad, Oct 14 (IANS) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, whose six-day fast in Delhi was forcibly ended Saturday, is recovering from jaundice at a hospital here.

The former Andhra Pradesh chief minister was admitted to Asian Institute of Gastroenterology Sunday night and doctors conducted various tests on him.

Doctors said Monday Naidu was stable but a decision on treatment of jaundice would be taken after more tests. They said his vital parameters were normal.

Naidu had last week undertaken an indefinite fast at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in the national capital to protest what he called arbitrary manner in which the Congress decided to bifurcate the state.

Police had forcibly administered Naidu to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he was admitted intravenous fluids.

According to doctors, Naidu lost four kg weight due to the fast. He was suffering from dehydration due to the fast and also developed jaundice.

Telugu film star and Naidu's brother-in-law N. Balakrishna was among several TDP leaders who called on him at the hospital.
