Rahul Gandhi to visit Maharashtra

Nagpur, Sep 23 (IANS) Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will arrive here Tuesday on a two-day visit to the state which will also take him to Pune, an official said here Monday.

In Nagpur, Maharashtra's winter capital, he is scheduled to hold three different meetings with district and block Congress committee office-bearers, elected members of local self government and Congress National Executive.

The meetings shall be held at the Surabardi Meadows Resort and Chokar Dhani Resort in Nagpur.

Gandhi will hold similar meetings Wednesday in Pune with district and block Congress committee office-bearers and elected local self-government members. 

He will also address the extended Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee meeting.

All the Pune meetings shall be held at the Balewadi Sports Complex.

Though party officials remain tight-lipped on the agenda for the meetings, it is learnt that the party office-bearers at various levels shall be told to prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections followed by Maharashtra Assembly elections in late-2014.
