Vodafone to hire from Indian B-schools, tech institutes

New Delhi, Sep 23 (IANS) Telecom service provider Vodafone Monday announced a programme through which it will directly recruit people from top 20 Indian business schools and technology institutes, a company statement said here.

“Our aim is to be a leading customer and talent-centric organisation that energises and engages our people. We have always focused on creating career growth opportunities for our employees. Vodafone’s “Discover Campus Programme”is designed with the aim of identifying and grooming young leaders for bigger roles in the future,” Ashok Ramchandran, director - human resources, Vodafone India said in the statement.

The company plans to recruit 90 interns this summer. Also, more than 80 top talents will be recruited into various entry level programmes, it said.

Prospective leaders will undergo 12-18 months development journey where 70 percent of the development takes place through on the job learnings, 20 percent through coaching and mentoring and 10 percent through classroom training.

It said the company will identify top-notch talent by visiting more than 20 top-ranked B-Schools and T-Schools in India such as the IIMs, XLRI, MDI, SIBM, IIFT, JBIMS, SCMHRD, SP Jain, and FMS, among others.
