New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would have a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly next week.
This was revealed by Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh at a briefing here Friday.
The meeting between the two prime ministers comes ahead of India exporting 250 MW of power to Bangladesh from next month.
The foreign secretary said the export of power by India to Bangladesh is a "milestone in our bilateral cooperation". The power export would be kicked off at a mega event, the date for which has not yet been fixed, she added.
The foreign secretary said India's relationship with Bangladesh "spans the entire gamut of issues" and that despite the Teesta water sharing and Land Boundary Agreement on exchange of enclaves not having gone through yet India is "deeply committed to delivering" on the two outstanding issues.
