Calgary: The yearly Terry Fox Run was held through the weekend and Calgarians raised thousands for growth research.

It was the 33rd year for the run and in excess of a thousand runners and walkers tackled Sunday.

Numerous as the Siebold family are still motivated by Fox's 1980 Marathon of Hope.

Teresa Siebold said, “It began with it being significant on the grounds that he is a courageous person. He raised cash for growth research which influenced our family in the ballpark of six year back now. They lost what may as well have been Opa to a cerebrum tumor.”

Wear Cowie knows Fox's story just too well and lost his leg to the same sort of malignancy.

"Terry Fox has dependably been a spark to me," said Cowie. "It got me off the sofa and I considered, well provided that he can do it, I can do things more than I have been finishing so it surely roused me."

In the not so distant future run was had by Olympian Mark Tewksbury and raised over $150,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
