Arrest warrant for notorious Vancouver landlords

Vancouver: A legitimate bunch that promoters for Vancouver's poorest inhabitants has taken the uncommon venture of securing 10 arrest warrants for George Wolsey, an infamous landowner in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

 

He owes more than $18,000 to occupants for unlivable conditions.

 

Turn Legal Society says Wolsey's previous occupants persevered uncontrolled infestations and genuine dangers to health and wellbeing while living in one of his single-room-inhabitance lodgings in the Downtown Eastside.

 

Legal advisor Doug King says those inhabitants were honored harms by the Residential Tenancy Branch this spring, yet Wolsey has tried to pay up, has neglected to show up at court dates and has rejected administration of archives.

 

Lawyer is of the view, a judge issued warrants Tuesday for Wolsey's capture after he by and by neglected to show up.

 

Turn will hold a question and answer session today to detail the more than three-year fight between Wolsey and occupants.
