Dr Moily Announces financial support of Rs 5 lakh to the family of Arjuna Awardee Sportsman Late Makhan Singh

New Delhi: The Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Dr M Veerappa Moily has announced a financial support of Rs 5 lakh to the family of Arjuna Awardee Sportsman Late Shri Makhan Singh. In a statement made, here today, Dr Moily said that on learning about the distress status of the family of Late Shri Makhan Singh, Arjun Awardee, he asked the President, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board(PSPB) to consider release of immediate relief to the family of Late Makhan Singh. Accordingly the PSPB has agreed to release a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs to the family of Late Makhan Singh. “The cheque will be presented to them during next week at New Delhi”, he added. 


Following is the text of the statement of Petroleum Minister Dr Moily : “After having heard the news about the distress status of the family of Late Makhan Singh, Arjun Awardee, I have discussed the matter with the President, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board who is also CMD, GAIL, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to consider release of immediate relief to the family of Late Makhan Singh. 


After considering the distress status of family, President, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board has agreed to release a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs to the family of Late Makhan Singh. The cheque will be presented to them during next week at New Delhi.”
