Chennai, Aug 23
Adavelly Kumara upset top seed Shaikh Abdulla 7-5, 6-3 in an all-Andhra boys singles semifinals of the AITA Adidas-MCC Junior National tennis championship here Friday.
In the final, Kumara will take on local challenger Neeraj Elangovan who got past Bengal’s Nitin Kumar Sinha 6-3, 6-3.
The girls singles final will be between top seed Snehadev S. Reddy (Tamil Nadu) who overcame Karnataka’s Dhruti T. Venugopal 6-3, 6-3, and Samhitha Sai (TN), a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Nandini Das from Maharashtra.

Boys singles: Neeraj Elangovan (TN) bt Nitin Kumar Sinha (WB) 6-3, 6-3; 4-Adavelly Kumara P (AP) bt 1-Shaikh Abdulla (AP) 7-5, 6-3.
Girls singles: 1-Snehadev S Reddy (TN) bt 7-Dhruthi T Venugopal (KA) 6-3,6-3; Samhitha Sai C (TN) bt Nandini Das (MH) 6-2, 6-2.
Boys doubles (Final): Nikshep BR (KA) / Alex Solanki (KA) bt Shaikh Abdulla (AP) / Sahil Deshmukh (MH) 6-4, 6-3.
Girls doubles (Final): Ojasvinee Singh (UP) / Karman Kaur Thandi (DL) bt Himani Mor (HR) / Vanshika Sawhney (DL) 6-3, 6-7(4), 10-7.
