India A beat South Africa A by innings and 13 runs

India A demolished South Africa A by an innings and 13 runs in the first unofficial Test at Olympia Park here Tuesday.

South Africa, who resumed at 312 for nine on day four, were bowled out for 357 in their first innings. The visitors enforced the follow on and the home team could only manage 212 in 66.5 overs.

India A, courtesy centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara (137), Rohit Sharma (119) and Suresh Raina (135), declared their first innings at a mammoth 582 for nine.

Medium pacer Ishwar Pandey struck thrice in the second innings, taking his match haul to seven. Speedster Mohammad Shami also picked up three wickets Tuesday to go with a wicket in the first innings.

Temba Bavuma top scored for South Africa A with 65 while Rilee Roussow made 34.

The second and final unofficial Test begins at Pretoria Aug 24. 

Brief Scores: India A 582/9 in first innings declared. South Africa A 357 all out in first innings (Duminy 84, Rossouw 57; Pandey 4/46, Raina 3/40) and 212 all out in second innings (Bavuma 65, Rossouw 34; Pandey 3/25, Shami 3/33).
