New Delhi, Aug 20

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will organise the second edition of the International Health and Wellness Summit from September to December.

First, the regional summit would be held in September-November in different centres finalised by the board, and the international summit is scheduled for the second week of December in the national capital, a CBSE statement said Tuesday.

The summit is for all the schools in the country and abroad affiliated to CBSE.

"As the board has introduced life skills, values education and gender sensitisation as an integral part of the curriculum the summit on a pan-India basis will help develop awareness towards issues of gender, environment, health and well-being," the statement said.

"This event is in collaboration with Expressions India and the unique aspect of this year's program is to create a countrywide presence of the events," the statement added.

Expressions India is a community-based outreach programme happening for the last 10 years for promotion of life skills, education, school health and community wellness. The programme was launched by a group of mental health professionals.

CBSE is the board of education for public and private schools. It conducts final examinations for Classes 10 and 12. It also annually conducts the All India Engineering Entrance and All India Pre-Medical Test examinations for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering and medical colleges, respectively.
