Toronto, 13 May (CI Bureau) : Peter Worthington, the Toronto journalist who was the founding editor of the Toronto Sun in the early 1970s, has died at age 86. Worthington began his journalism career with the Toronto Telegram. Among his work, he covered the Vietnam War and was an eyewitness to the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man linked with the 1963 assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. The Sun reports Worthington died Sunday night at Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was admitted to hospital last week with a serious staphylococcus infection.
