Publicise new, harsher sexual harassment law: Jung

New Delhi, Aug 13 (IANS) Focusing on women security and safety in the national capital, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung Tuesday said that wider publicity must be given to the new, harsher laws against sexual harassment.

In a meeting with NGOs, women organisations and Delhi Police officers, Jung said: "Fear of law must be generated among offenders by the publicity campaign and by prompt action on the ground by police."

NGOs, which highlighted sexual harassment in public transport, were requested to identify the crime-prone areas and places where rowdy elements gather
.

Jung directed police officers to popularise the Delhi Police website and make it more user-friendly and accessible.
