Image provided by the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology of Guatemala (Insivumeh, for its accronym in Spanish) shows an ash plume expelled by the Santiaguito volcano, in the Palmar municipality, Quetzaltenango department, Guatemala, on Aug. 6, 2013. In the early morning on Tuesday, seven explosions were registred in the Santiaguito volcano, which released ash plumes in 500 to 800 meters high, causing ashfall in the Quetzaltenango and San Marcos departments, bordering Mexico, according to information from the Insivumeh.
