A woman in Haryana was gang-raped by two men who offered her a lift to a religious function in their vehicle, police said Sunday. The two accused have been arrested.
The incident, according to the victim, took place Friday in Sirsa town, 260 km from here..
Accused Naveen and Ashok have been booked for gang-rape and criminal intimidation, police said.
The woman told police that she was walking towards the venue of a religious function on the outskirts of Sirsa town when a car stopped near her in which three men were present.
She claimed the car occupants told her that they were also going to the same function's venue and offered her lift in the vehicle, police said.
According to police, the woman said that the men took her to a vacant plot in Sirsa's Sector 20 and two of them gang-raped her, while the third man stood there.
