Earthquake hits Pakistan

Islamabad, Aug 3 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted parts of Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir early Saturday, the Geo News reported.

The quake, having its epicentre some 119 km southeast of Srinagar in Kashmir, had a depth of 10 km, the Met department said.
The temblor shook the country's capital city of Islamabad, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces and Pakistan administered Kashmir (PoK), when people were preparing for Sehri, early morning. Panic gripped the residents in Islamabad, Lahore, and areas including Mandi Bahauddin, Jehlm, Gujranwala, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Pakistan administered Kashmir and other cities.
