India, China hold 3rd meet on border affairs

India and China are holding the third meeting on border affairs in New Delhi today. The meeting focuses on maintaining peace and tranquillity on the border and ensuring better coordination and communication. The two-day meeting of working mechanism for consultation and coordination on India-China border affairs is led by Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs Gautam Bambawale and seniors officials of Defence and Home Ministries from Indian side. A composite delegation of officials is representing the Chinese side in the meeting. 

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said the meeting does not deal with border issues as these issues are handled by Special Representatives on both sides. He added that the meeting also does not discuss Border Defence Cooperation Agreement since there is a separate mechanisms for that. The meeting is part of a series of regular interactions between the two countries.

AIR correspondent reports, the meeting is considered significant against the backdrop of recent Chinese incursions into the Indian territory.

The border issues must be resolved between the 2 countries ..as these make these countries under one roof !!
