Cast list: Rishi Kapoor, Shruti Haasan, Huma Qureshi, Arjun Rampal, Nassar
Director: Nikhil Advani
In the film “D-Day”, the legend Rishi Kapoor is seen with a crew of other popular faces. For the director that was nearly half battle won.
Nikhil, who has dreadfully tried ejecting the whiz of “Chandni Chowk To China”, removed the masala elements to do the best with his latest. The film tries to balance resolute practicality with the one that sells. Additionally, the point that the movie has no big actors has been wrapped with surplus drama and action.
The entire package works for a single watch. The film could have more elements if the director was confident storyteller. Notwithstanding a covetable cast, the chronicle tends to develop mis-interpretations many times.
Till date there are a large number of repeats in Bollywood meant to persist motion. The actors however succeed in delivering the ominous with the modest edge.
Of course, the story has twist. It grosses the movie to a sincere climax. But the viewers’ appreciate that in some parts of the film is violent and could be a strategy to encompass runtime.
A talented troupe enters with efficient performances. Irrfan, Huma and Arjun catch many cool actions that they enjoy. Shruti Haasan is introduced as a sex worker in Pakistan. It does well with a tragic plot.
And seeing Rishi Kapoor hitting the hazard, you will wish the chocolate boy of 80’s takes you to the glimpses of golden age even more often.
Movie Rating: 3 out of 5
