Kolkata Knight Riders might pull out of IPL 8: Reports

March 31, 2015 04:13 PM

Controversy has already hit the cash rich Indian Premier League as defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders have threatened to pull out of the competition.

According to reports, KKR are set to get into a legal battle with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the participation of their star spinner Sunil Narine.

Narine was banned for his suspect action during the 2014 Champions League Twenty20 and was barred from playing in the final against Chennai Super Kings that Kolkata lost.

Subsequently, Narine was dropped from West Indies' tour of India in November and then Narine opted out of the 2015 World Cup.

However, later on Narine modified his action and the ICC had cleared him.

Now, BCCI is not ready to accept ICC's clearance report given to Narine and wants the off spinner to undergo a second test.

According to a report in the Mumbai Mirror KKR is now thinking to take legal action against BCCI.

The KKR team management said that Narine was not hauled up for 'chucking' during the IPL but his action was suddenly found illegal in the CLT20.

According to sources, if BCCI doesn't lift the ban on Sunil Narine, then KKR is mulling to pull out from the Indian Premier League this year.

The Gautam Gambhir-led side has already met BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya regarding this matter and the BCCI President has assured the team that appropriate step will be taken in the matter.
