Mulgrave, NS – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
The Town of Mulgrave is taking steps to stimulate economic development opportunities by upgrading its Loggie Street wastewater system. The updated system will support new and existing commercial operations as well as the needs of local residents.
The primary clientele served by the Loggie Street wastewater pumping station are the businesses in the Mulgrave Marine Industrial Park, as well as several residences located in the north end of town. Recently, Royal DSM, a major tenant of the town-owned Mulgrave Marine Industrial Park, has commenced the construction of a $30 million expansion to its Mulgrave plant where it produces Omega-3 products. The replacement of the Town’s current wastewater pumping station will increase the capacity and reliability of the system and provide the required support for the DSM expansion, as well as future commercial growth opportunities in the community.
The Government of Canada is contributing $200,412 toward the project, through ACOA’s Innovative Communities Fund (ICF).
