Indian classical dance should be part of school/college curriculum, says Kathak Guru Vijayshree Chaudhary

Vijayshree Chaudhary Guru and a prominent Kathak exponent support padmavibhushan Sonal Mansingh in her demand to include Indian classical dance in school curriculum. She emphasized that the all Indian classical dance form helps students to stay fit and remain focused in studies.

Kathak Guru Vijayshree Chaudhary said that Kathak give emphasizes on poses, expressions, grace, hand eyes and body movement and footwork this makes your body look younger, lose weight, and brings lots of excitement in life. Within no time you will discover that you have more active and full of energy. Learning Kathak is good way of reliving every days stress. While doing Kathak you will forget about worries, distraction in normal life. It helps internally to overcome physical and mental tension and as well as they will also learn about the rich cultural heritage of India as Kathak is inspired by them.

Vijayshree Chaudhary was born in a musical family, her father Pt. Nand kumar Bhatlowabde was a renowned tabla Player. She went to Kathak kendra at a tender age of 16 under the leading light of Kathak padmavibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj ji.  Today she runs her Nritya Kala Kendra in Mumbai spreading and popularising  Kathak.
