The fastest and the most brutal double ton that Chris Gayle scored against Zimbabwe is something that every cricket fan will cherish.
But India had played a major role as the blade that unleashed the storm was made in India!
According to a report in Times of India, the bat that Gayle used to crack the scintillating double hundred was actually made in India.
"That massive blade he wielded against Zimbabwe on Tuesday to score World Cup's first ever double century was manufactured in Punjab's sports goods hub Jalandhar," the newspaper said.
"No wonder Amit Sharma of Spartan Sports was smiling ear-to-ear watching Gayle storm descend on Zimbabwe with full force," it added.
Gayle has been using our bats for the last two years. He demands a heavy bat weighing between 1250 gm and 1300 gm. We sent over 15 bats and he used the ones he liked after a knocking session," Amit Sharma of Spartan Sports said.
However there is something to worry for Indian fans as Gayle will use the same willow against India.
"(MS) Dhoni also uses our bats. Hopefully, he will hit back with the same force," Sharma said.
And we hope Dhoni's bat unleashes the storm this time when India take on West Indies.
