Vikramjit Singh’s romantic thriller Roy has turned out to be a crowd puller. The film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal has so far collected Rs 41.77 crore at the domestic box office. Now that’s an impressive figure because the film was slammed by almost all of the critics. Roy has been running in the theaters for a week now and it is still managing to pull in crowd to the cinema halls. So I am pretty sure these figures will soon touch the Rs 50 crore mark.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the box office figures of Roy a while back. He wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, “#Roy Fri 10.40 cr, Sat 11.16 cr, Sun 7.12 cr, Mon 3.65 cr, Tue 3.76 cr, Wed 2.92 cr, Thu 2.76 cr. Total – 41.77 cr. India biz.”

Though Roy has fared well at the ticket windows, things could get tough in the coming days. Not only Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Badlapur has released today, on Sunday India will take on South Africa in the ICC World Cup 2015. Both these factors are likely to affect box office collection of Ranbir-Arjun’s film.
