Producer D Ramanaidu passes away

Daggubati Ramanaidu, who holds the Guiness World Record for most number of films produced by an individual, passed away today (February 18). He was aged 78.

Ramanaidu has produced more than 150 films in 13 Indian languages. He debuted with 'Ramudu Bheemudu' with NTR in the lead in 1964. The last film he produced under his banner Suresh Productions is the 2015 film, 'Gopala 'Gopala'.

The stellar producer was conferred the Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. His film 'Asukh' (1999) won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali.

Ramanaidu was suffering from prostrate cancer and was undergoing treatment at a Hyderabad hospital. He is survived by two sons a daughter, and grandsons Rana and Naga Chaitanya.
