Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) seized nearly 4.5 kg of suspected marijuana in a vehicle carrying to residents of the United States. The border services officers inspected the vehicle and found the suspected marijuana in a plastic bag in the trunk of the vehicle. The suspected marijuana was wrapped in a transparent plastic.

The suspected drugs and the travellers were turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which laid charges of drug possession and trafficking against the two individuals.

• From January 1 to December 31, 2014, border services officers at Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle carried out 143 drug seizures, including 76 marijuana seizures.
