Hema Malini, India's dream girl and Babul Supriyo, musician and Minister of State for Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, are recording a Bengali album of three priceless songs for Saregama India. 

More than four decades ago, way back in 1973, Hema Malini was inspired by the legendary Kishore Kumar to lend her voice in Bengali. That was how two great Bengali songs written by Mukul Dutta and put to tune by no less a person than Kishore Kumar was successfully recorded and formed an important part of the 1973 Puja album of Gramophone Co, as Saregama was known in those days. That was a memorable cross cultural event in the history of Indian music and the two songs have withstood the test of time to become an inseparable part of popular Indian music. 

"After a gap of more than four decades, Babul Supriyo has taken the initiative to bring back the two songs after being recreated with contemporary musical arrangement. To this to be added is a fresh duet song (Hema-Babul) with lyrics by Srijato and composition by Indradip Dasgupta. Saregama has in its archive 2297 of Kishore Kumar's songs, out of which 2142 are in Hindi and 155 in Bengali." 

Kishore Kumar's first Bengali film song (Samar) was released by Saregama in 1950, which is still alive in the heart of music-lovers. The song Sundari-Lo-Sundari was sung with Geeta Dutt.
