RIP Humour: AIB – The Roast of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor taken off YouTube after protests!

Yes, AIB Knockout – The Roast of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor is taken off YouTube after protests from various sectors. Team AIB took to Twitter to announce this news, they wrote, “Have taken down AIB Knockout for now. We will speak soon.” Clearly like commonsense, sense of humour too is uncommon in today’s times it seems.

They also added, that the Knockout episode is subject to some manner of official inquiry.

The AIB Roast was a starry charity event that had Ranveer, Arjun and Karan Johar participants and amongst the guest members were Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha and many others (read: with a sense of humour). With a turn out of 4000 odd audience this show was a hit both live and on YouTube.

Controversies however continued to cast its ugly shadow ever since the three part edited version found it’s way on YouTube. It’s debut online itself caused quite a furor and it became the point of discussion. With politicians finding a new topic to rant about it was blown out of proportion. Bollywood wallahs too didn’t come out in the open and support of this funnily offensive show. Instead of discussing the ‘COOL’ quotient of this show, Deepika’s double standards, Karan’s sexuality and the starry jokes made headlines. Celebs like Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan were miffed for reasons of their own. But, did the show not deserve to be watched just for laughs?

Well, that we will let you decide. But this move certainly proves that humour is indeed dead in this nation! What next ban cartoonists? Will not be surprised if that too will make front page news soon.
