And of course it has made the wait for this movie even harder!

Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma’s Bombay Velvet has been the centre point of a zillion controversies, conflicts and drama. First there were rumours that the film will be shelved, then reports suggested that Ranbir is unhappy with how the film has turned out, later we heard that Raveen Tandon has made an awkward exit from the film and most recently news of Bombay Velvet getting postponed further started doing rounds. Throughout this turbulent time Anurag Kashyap, who has declared BV as his most ambitious and expensive project, kept his cool waiting for the audience to see the first look of his film.

And now that the first look is here, I cannot imagine how proud Mr Kashyap must feel! The first look released by the Ugly director has Ranbir Kapoor in a rugged avatar standing with his back towards us. He plays the role of a street-fighter named Johnny Balraj. I can tell by taking one look at this picture that he has pumped some serious iron for the film.

Both Anurag and Anushka were quick to tweet the first look and have our interest piqued in the film. Anurag captioned the first look thus, “Give it up for the Big Shot of #BombayVelvet Johnny Balraj. First look out tomorrow.” Anushka too tweeted, “Say hello to the Big Shot Johnny Balraj of #BombayVelvet first look out on 29th”
