I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of my great friend, philanthropist and health community activist, Joseph Rotman.
Mr. Rotman leaves behind an inspiring legacy of developing internationally renowned Canadian healthcare institutions and the establishment of global neuroscience achievements. With a passion for public policy at both the federal and provincial levels, Mr. Rotman assisted in the advancement of Canadian life sciences research, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and was the Chair of the Ontario Genomics Institute.
Mr. Rotman will be graciously remembered for his selfless generosity, his astute intellect, and sincere passion to continue to make Canada a worldwide leader in health.
Thank you, Joe, for always being a champion and leader for Canadian public health and one of my most trusted advisors. You will be missed.
