We caught Deepika Singh in a spirited avatar at the recently held Star Guild Awards 2015. The beauty has today become a household name with her role as Sandhya in Star Plus’ hit show Diya Aur Baati Hum. We took the opportunity to ask her about the existing competition she faces with Divyanka Tripathi aka Ishita from Star Plus’ another hit series, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.Deepika was prompt in her reply where she said, “No I don’t think there is any competition with Divyanka Tripathi. Her role is that of a South Indian girl, Ishita, who is trying to find her way with her Punjabi husband, Raman. My role is completely different where I play an IAS officer.”

Deepika’s show Diya Aur Baati Hum continues to face a tough TRP fight with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein as the two shows are presently the most popular ones on Television. But looks like Deepika is unfazed with the competition and is hell bent on focusing on her own role as Sandhya in the show.

We also asked her about ex co-star Gautam Gulati who is currently seen as a participant in Bigg Boss Halla Bol. While talking about him the actress said, “I have had the opportunity to work with Gautam before. I wish him all the best and it would be great if he wins the show.”

Well there’s still time to look out for that one. As for Divyanka, looks like Ms Ishita will have to give a tough fight to Sandhya this year!
