New Delhi:

Adding to the controversy of BJP's alleged Hindu-dominant agenda, party's parliamentarian from Uttar Pradesh Sakshi Maharaj has said that every Hindu woman must produce at least four children.

On Tuesday, at a religious gathering in Uttar Pradesh, the 58-year-old parliamentarian said, " Every Hindu woman must produce at least four children," and asked the congregation to give one to the army and one to the religious leaders and teachers.

The Congress did not lose time to criticize the remark and said even the children were part of the Saffron party's grand electoral success.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi of Congresssaid BJP must not remain silent on such comments and come clear of this, adding "Is this the population policy of the new government?"

Prime minister Narendra Modi had recently asked the BJP lawmakers no to issue any controversial comment following the incidents of religious conversions.
