Decembers are usually an exciting time. While people eagerly await for Christmas and New Year, almost everyone has the habit of looking back at the year that was. 2014 was an eventful year for Bollywood and as we look back, we feel it was the year of young talents, big budget star vehicles, women oriented films and of course few gem of films which left an impact on us. From Alia Bhatt to Aamir Khan, 2014 belonged to  a few names who tasted terrific success and rose to immense popularity. Seven such B-town celebs – Sunny Leone, Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, were pitted against each other in the race to the coveted title of Celebrity of the Year 2014. And this what fans had to say: 

Riding high on his stellar performance in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Haider. Shahid Kapoor, who is expected to sweep almost all awards this year, was chosen as the Celebrity of the Year by the fans! In a contest between big wigs of Bollywood, it was surprising how Shahid won with  landslide 35% of votes, leaving the rest in his wake. Mary Kom star Priyanka Chopra, who has been making news for signing an American Tv series with ABC,  finished second in the poll with 25% of the votes. Aamir Khan finished third in the race with 19% of votes as he soared to limelight with his performance in controversy hit PK.

Deepika and Alia earned   fourth and fifth spot with 11% and 6% of votes respectively. Deepika’s beau, Ranveer Singh, who grabbed eyeballs with his quirky antics in condom ads and Bang Bang dare made got 3% of votes, while Ragini MMS 2 hottie Sunny Leone finished last with 2% of votes. With films like Shandaar and Udta Punjab lined up in 2015, it would be interesting to see how Shahid fares in 2015. Can he retain the title this year too? Let 2015 unfold!
