2014 is finally coming to a close and we look back to see the shows that truly impressed us with their story line – it’s not the TRPs that define the top best show, but the concept
It’s true that some of the shows we liked have no connection whatsoever with how they fared at the ratings game, but we stick to our list for the novel concept, invigorating performances and a good storyline. Let us know if you agree with us.
Ek Hasina Thi: The daily soap was time bound and the viewers already knew that it will never go off topic. The revenge story may be inspired from the West but Sanjeeda Sheikh, Simone Singh and Vatsal Sheth’s spectacular performances made us sit up and take notice. The storyline has not been dull even for a moment now that is definitely a very difficult task.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein: It’s cute to see Raman (Karan Patel) and Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) come together to raise a child. The tussle between the Iyers and Bhallas, the constant scuffle to outdo the competition, testimony of a good mother and several other such melodramas make this daily soap one of the most interesting soaps in recent times.
Nisha Aur Uske Cousins: Now here’s something that is youth centric and a breath of fresh air in between all the saas bahu sagas. The story line revolving around Nisha and her six siblings which touch on current topics is unique. The chemistry between all the actors make the show engaging and remarkable.
Itti Si Khushi: It touches a chord in the hearts of viewers when they see an innocent girl Neha (Smriti Kalra) being punished for mistakes she never even committed. She wins you over with her simplicity, honesty and her adorable smile. We’ve in fact often sat with a box of tissues before watching this daily soap. Rajan Shahi’s new show definitely strikes a connection with us.
Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh: Struggles are part of an everyday life, but when Shobha (Sonali Bendre) emerged from her broken marriage for the sake of your kids and still holding a positive outlook was a feat very few can accomplish. Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh makes women feel nothing is impossible and a fresh start is something everyone deserves. Do we need more reasons to like the show?
