November 17, 2014 07:40 PM

For the first time, Child Labour has been defined by a court.

The Hon’ble Delhi High Court made it mandatory to rescue a child
within 3 days of a complaint of child labour being made been made. It
has asked the Government to rescue 500 children each month. The Delhi
High Court has also ensured that the target of completing the
investigation and rehabilitation of every rescued child labour will be
achieved within 45 days from the rescue of the child. Compulsory
registration for all factories and other establishments employing
young labours will be done by the Labour department in a time bound
manner.

All the above suggestion had been put forward by Ms.
Prabhsahay Kaur, counsel appearing for ‘’Save the Childhood’’, a
sister concern of Bachpan Bachao Andolan. \ The Court has also
appreciated the efforts of Bachpan Bachao Andolan while congratulating
Sh Kailash Satyarthi, on attaining international recognition and
winning the Nobel Peace Prize for the work done by him in the field.
