Sushant Divgikar, who was recently eliminated from Bigg Boss 8 had a chat with us post his eviction. In this candid conversation, Divgikar talked about his journey inside the glass walled house and much more. Excerpts from conversation.
First things first, how would you describe your experience inside the Bigg Boss house?
It was indeed like a roller coaster ride for me, but I loved every bit of it. I think I had the most fun that’s because I got along with everyone inside that house. I got to know a lot of people, a lot of things, lot of stories and lot of lives. And that is what I was looking forward to and I did.
Were you expecting to come out this soon?
I think we have reached a stage in reality TV where people don’t like to see nice things. This is the mindset and it’s really sad. You come home after work and you want to watch people fight each other, then what sort of mindset is that? Moreover is that what they call entertainment?
But then don’t you think Bigg Boss is incomplete without all the drama and fights?
No, I don’t think so. Because the winner of first season of Bigg Boss was Rahul Roy. How did he win? He was away from all the fights. Yes there were contestants who made it dirty. Second season was Ashutosh (Kaushik). He didn’t fight with people. Third was Vindu (Dara Singh). Yes, he was a bit aggressive, so it’s okay. Juhi (Parmar) was as far as possible away from the jhagda. Urvashi (Dholakia) ko kitna provoke kiya, par kuch boli woh? I don’t like the fact that people thinkBigg Boss is all about fights. I am a person, who will not initiate the fight, but if someone else does, I will of course retaliate. So I didn’t have a major fight with anyone. No one fought with me, because I didn’t go down to that level.
Now that you are eliminated from Bigg Boss 8, who do you want to win the show?
I think Pritam (Singh), Upen (Patel) and Diandra (Soares) are worthy of the title.
Amongst all the contestants, who do you think is the most cunning?
I think Gautam (Gulati) and Puneet ji (Issar). I happen to see some episodes after coming out and I was shocked to see the things that they said about a few people. When I saw the episodes as an outsider, it felt like I am seeing some other show. They didn’t have the audacity to say things in front of us, because they knew that we won’t take all that. Jab itni fatt ti hai toh baat kyun karte ho peeche?
But Minissha Lamba in one of her interviews said that Gautam is the most misunderstood person in the house…
I completely disagree with her. She herself was misunderstood.
So given a chance would you like to go back inside the Bigg Boss house?
I don’t think so.
That’s quite surprising. That’s because, I have spoken to each and every contestant after they have come out of the house. And each and everyone of them said that they would love to go back in the house.
Because I am true to myself. I would not like to go back to a place to get dirty again. I have realised that I am the calm before the storm. You can either be a spectator or you can be that person, who enjoys getting dirty. Yes there are people in that house, who are genuine, but on the other side, there are people who are very negative.
Obviously, you must have spoken to your friends after coming out. How are they reacting to your stint in Bigg Boss 8?
They all loved me. And I am glad they liked me. Many people are saying they loved the way I dress, some are saying they loved the way I danced. So yeah, I have been getting positive reactions from everyone, which is quite heartening.
Who do you think betrayed you inside that house?
Somewhere down the line it was Karishma (Tanna). Also one person who betrayed my trust was Puneet ji.
Talking about Puneet, he made a comeback to the show after that whole fight with Arya Babbar. Many people called his re-entry unfair. What are your thoughts?
It was quite unfair. Because whether it was intentional or unintentional, it was a mistake and he shouldn’t have come back.
So what plans now?
Salman Khan has offered me to sing in one of his movies. And of course I want to do more reality shows. People need to understand that reality shows are not about drama, it’s just showing your real side to the masses, which is quite entertaining
