Kamloops, British Columbia – Canadian Heritage
Cathy McLeod, Member of Parliament (Kamloops–Thompson–Cariboo), on behalf of the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), today announced $50,000 in funding for Hockey Canada. This funding, provided through Sport Canada’s Hosting Program, supports the 4 Nations Cup. The tournament is being held at the Interior Savings Centre in Kamloops from November 4 to 8, 2014.

- Canada’s National Women’s Team has won the gold medal at the 4 Nations Cup 13 times since the first tournament in 1996.
- Sport Canada’s Sport Support Program is providing approximately $2,945,000 to Hockey Canada during the 2014–2015 fiscal year.
- Sport Canada’s Athlete Assistance Program provided $768,372.68 to 64 Canadian female hockey players to assist with living, training, tuition support and special needs support in 2013–2014.
