Whitby, ON – Veterans Affairs Canada

On behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, Parm Gill, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs, today attended the official unveiling and grand opening of the Wounded Warriors Canada Park of Reflection, located in Whitby’s Cullen Central Park.

The Park of Reflection is a living tribute to all of Canada’s uniformed service personnel—and their families—who have served internationally or domestically and, as a result of their service, became ill or injured in the line of duty.

This beautiful and tranquil park, which features a labyrinth walking path, a healing garden and sculptural elements, will serve as a place for visitors to pause and reflect on the sacrifices of our nation’s wounded soldiers.

Quick Facts

  • The Park of Reflection, designed by Whitby resident Daimian Boyne, a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran, represents the return to health and wellness of uniformed service personnel and their families who support them.
  • The park is an initiative organized by Wounded Warriors Canada, a Canadian non-profit organization that helps Canadian Armed Forces members who have been injured during their service to Canada.
