Govinda in an exclusive interview, “Recently we got to know that Salman Khan is rigorously following you up to convince you to act in a Marathi film, why are you not agreeing?” 

Govinda replied, “Actually it’s because it is a Marathi film. I told him I don’t want to do art film because it’s an art film and I have done ‘Partner’ movie with Salman, so after that an art film would not go well with the audience. That is my basic thought hence I said no, there is no other reason.” 

He also said that Salman is playing a small role in the Marathi film and added further saying, “Also I feel that you should not take advantage of people who are so helpful like Salman, just because they are good from heart. It does not have to beyond your work and never to take people for granted, in fact we were friends since long time, and never in life thought that we will be helpful to each other in career. We never use to discuss that and would never ask for each other’s help or interfere.” 

We also asked him if he would ever work in a regional film, and to our surprise he said, “Why not! I come from Maharashtra and have not scored good marks in Hindi. I am born and bought up around people and friends who are always used to speak Marathi. Manjrekar is my friend and whenever we talk, we always talk in Marathi language. Also I have been said that 2014 is a very lucky year, so maybe I will do a regional film this year.”
